About the Founder – Parmbir Khattra
Kabaddi California was founded by Parmbir Khattra, whose love for Kabaddi began at a young age when his father introduced him to the sport and took him to tournaments across the state. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion and inspired him to stay closely connected to Kabaddi throughout his school and university years.
Parmbir vividly remembers watching Kabaddi live for the first time in 2013 at a Bay Area tournament. The energy of the crowd, the intensity of the players, and the presence of legends like Dulla Bagga Pind, Pala Jalalpuria, Khushi Duggan, and Sultan Sounspur left a lasting impression. From that moment on, he became more than a fan—he became a student of the game, learning about the sport and the athletes who shaped it.
To him, Kabaddi represents Punjabi pride, tradition, and strength. He felt a responsibility to help the sport grow in America and create a bridge between Punjabi roots and American audiences.
In 2022, while a university student, Parmbir started posting Kabaddi clips on TikTok under the name “Kabaddi Highlights.” The videos quickly gained attention from fans across the U.S. and abroad. After reaching about 10,000 followers in 6 months, he decided to rebrand to “Kabaddi California”, realizing the need for a professional, English-first Kabaddi platform that connected with younger generations. By mixing English captions, relatable slang, and cultural storytelling, he made Kabaddi feel modern and accessible while keeping its authentic Punjabi identity.
That creative approach—clean visuals, credible storytelling, and bilingual content—helped new fans discover the sport and strengthened its presence in America.
Today, Kabaddi California stands as America’s #1 Kabaddi media platform, reaching over 100,000 followers across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X. The platform covers tournaments, spotlights athletes, explains rules and strategies, and partners with clubs, sponsors, and organizers to give Kabaddi the recognition it deserves.
The vision of Kabaddi California is clear and ambitious: to see Kabaddi in America evolve into a mainstream professional sport—with packed arenas, dedicated athletes, and global respect alongside leagues like the NBA, NFL, and UFC.
Kabaddi California is more than a media page—it’s a movement to elevate the sport, celebrate Punjabi heritage, and inspire the next generation of players and fans.
